Find Terry Civil Court Dockets

Need a Terry County civil court docket? Start with the court named on your notice or case paper, since district, county, probate, justice, and federal civil matters each sit with a different clerk and a different search path. Those clerks hold the records you want. A docket may show that a hearing was set without showing the motion, order, or judgment behind it. So the strongest Terry County civil court dockets search pairs the right local clerk with any online index or setting list, then a call to confirm anything recent, restricted, or missing.

Civil Dockets: What They Show

The sample 121st District Court Civil Tax Docket is a date-specific setting list. It is not a case file. Its row fields and hearing context help you tell one listed matter from another. The full pleading and order history is not there. A “final hearing” label gives the reason for the setting. It is not proof that a final judgment was signed.

TimeThe listed call or hearing time for that docket edition.
Docket NumberThe cause number used to locate the Terry County civil file.
Style of CaseThe formal case caption, subject to privacy and redaction rules.
Attorney FieldsListed counsel information, which may become stale.
Reason SetThe purpose of the hearing, such as a final hearing.
CommentsNotes such as a reset from an earlier setting.

When you need to know what the court ordered, request the signed order or judgment. The docket lists an event; it does not prove the result.

Terry LGS Civil Records

The County Clerk’s official page links to LGS Online Solutions. The county guide says to choose Search, pick an office and a record type such as Civil, and then work with the criteria the portal displays. Searching is free. Guest access can show index details and an image preview. Buying public images requires registration with a verified email.

The official guide publishes no fixed list of live search fields, so do not count on one. Results offer More Information and Images choices, pagination, a cart, checkout, downloads, purchase history, and receipts. Each image purchase adds a $0.30 transaction fee. That fee sits apart from the image price. Some detail stays out of public view. When the index appears but the image you need does not, call the County Clerk.

What Cases Fill the Civil Docket

District civil jurisdiction can include contract, tort, property or title, tax, family, and other matters assigned to the 121st District Court. County Court records may include civil and probate work. That covers only what the court’s authority allows. Terry County Court also holds concurrent jurisdiction with the justice courts in civil matters within the justice court’s general jurisdiction under Government Code §26.323.

JP Precinct One lists small claims, debt claims, evictions, repair-and-remedy cases, and occupational-license filings. Its stated civil limit is $10,000. Filing rules vary by case type. The eviction material, for instance, asks for a copy of the notice plus facts about delivery. These venue facts help route a docket request. They do not settle whether the claim was filed in the correct court.

Terry Civil Setting Language

Two local phrases need care. “Reason Set: FINAL HEARING” names the planned event, and it does not prove a final judgment followed. “RESET FROM” points back to an earlier setting and shows the current line belongs to a longer calendar history. Neither phrase blames anyone for delay.

Setting
A scheduled court event, not a result.
Reset
A later date replacing or following an earlier setting.
Continuance
An authorized move of a hearing or trial to a later time.
Final hearing
A setting intended to address final issues, subject to what occurred and what the judge signed.
Docket sheet
The chronological event index, distinct from a date-specific setting list.

Ask the District Clerk for the chronology and the signed paper when a calendar line is unclear. That keeps what was planned separate from what actually happened.

Hearings on the Civil Docket

The Terry and Yoakum district schedule lists broad event blocks, including civil jury weeks and non-jury settings. A broad week is not a case-specific notice. The civil tax docket is narrower. It adds time, cause number, reason set, and comments. Compare the newest amended schedule with your own notice and the current docket.

The District Clerk answers record questions. The coordinator for the 121st District Court handles courtroom and setting logistics. The number is 806-637-7742. Do not call the judge about a pending matter. If a reset or cancellation looks likely, ask the clerk or coordinator to confirm the current date and any appearance requirement before you travel.

Terry Civil Copy Choices

Not every copy serves the same purpose. A portal image, a plain paper copy, a certified copy, and an appeal record answer different needs. Under the County Clerk's 2024 schedule, copies run $1 per page. Certified copies cost $1 per page plus $5 certification per document. Authenticated copies add one more certification step. If you lack a docket number, the District Clerk charges a $5 search fee. Copy and certification charges are billed separately.

Ask first: Name the court, cause number, exact document, date range, delivery method, and whether certification is required.

Fees and payment routes can change. A County Clerk image purchase also carries a separate portal transaction fee. Civil and probate filing fees on the schedule are not one universal price. Not every copy costs the same. Before you mail funds, ask the clerk for the current total. Ask about the accepted payment methods too.

Who Can See Civil Dockets

Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a starts from a simple premise: court records are open. Sealing can still happen, but only after required findings and procedure. Sensitive exhibits may be sealed or redacted while the public docket entry stays visible. Social Security numbers get redacted under the applicable Texas statute and a Terry County form. Family, juvenile, protective-order, financial, and medical matters may carry extra limits.

For an active case file, go to the responsible clerk directly rather than a general Texas Public Information Act request. Rule 12 covers many non-adjudicative judicial records. The Terry public-records page links the request and redaction materials for county administrative records. When a filing is partly protected, ask the clerk for a public or redacted version.

Access rules: Use the Judicial Branch policy for the records distinction and the official rules page for current Rule 76a material.

Terry Civil Search Gaps

A blank search screen is rarely a dead end. The miss could come from the wrong clerk, an indexing lag, a nonpublic image, or a sealed filing. A spelling mismatch can do it too, or a case sitting at another court level. Confirm the court and the year first. Run the exact cause number with and without punctuation if the portal allows it. Look for a newer amended PDF, then call the custodian with just the identifying facts.

Both the District Clerk and the County Clerk offer in-person and mail routes for inspection or copies. re:SearchTX adds a statewide layer. But it cannot replace a certified local record. Keep the boundaries clear: the County Clerk portal is not the JP docket. Brownfield's public-document pages hold no municipal case data. More lookup help sits in the Terry County docket search resource.
